Why he might be annoying:

He may be responsible for the New Age genre.
His birth name is ridiculously long.
He went to art school and was planning to become an art teacher.
While he plays synthesizers and dabbles in other instruments, he has long considered that his occupation is 'non-musician.'
In the 60s and 70s, he was thought to be homosexual because he loved to wear make-up and women's clothing.
Because of his outlandish appearance in Roxy Music, Eno especially got a lot of press attention, which led to a falling out with frontman Bryan Ferry.
The title 'Here Come the Warm Jets' refers to golden showers.
He has an odd habit of smoking only during interviews.
    He enjoys over-40s porn.
Neil Halsted of Slowdive had said that working with Eno was 'like working with your dad. He would take the clock off the wall.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He grew up listening to American Armed Forces radio, and was influenced by doo-wop and rock & roll.
In college, he made taped sound collages and other art in a variety of formats.
He joined Roxy Music after he was asked to play a synthesizer that the other members didn't know how to operate.
Along with artist Peter Schmidt, he created a deck of cards called ‘Oblique Strategies.’ The words on each card in the deck are to help people work through creative processes. (1975)
He is extremely prolific as a composer, producer and artist.
He is a pioneer of both glam rock and ambient/space music.
He loves to collaborate with other artists, even on his solo albums.
His early recordings have highly influenced 80s New Wave and modern-day indie rock.
He originally composed 'Music for Airports' so that airports can use it to calm passengers’ fears of flying and the threat of crashes.
David Bowie didn’t want his music to be used in 'Velvet Goldmine,' but Eno allowed for his recordings to be on the soundtrack.
He encourages artists to use their ‘mistakes.’
He composed the soundbyte for Microsoft Windows using a Mac.
He eventually made up with Bryan Ferry, and they worked together on a song.
    He has coordinated several charities.
He says he enjoys a secret life of doing guest backup vocals for various recordings under different pseudonyms.
He is a visiting professor at Royal College of Art in London.
