Why Prairie Oyster might be annoying:

Their band name is a slang term for cattle testicles.
They went on a four year hiatus from performing between 1978 and 1982.
Outside of Bruce Moffatt, they were unable to find stability at the drummer position.
Bruce's replacement, Bohdan was fired from the band when he came out as a transgender woman named Michelle Josef (1998).
They claimed Bohdan's firing was justified, but their fanbase was angry at their statement, which they felt gave the band a transphobic vibe.
Their mainstream commercial success waned in the years following the controversy.

Why Prairie Oyster might not be annoying:

Russell, Keith and Dennis stayed with the band for the entirety of its run.
They got their start playing in clubs and on television in the Toronto area, before landing a record contract.
They made a comeback after adding both Joan and John to the lineup.
They were considered one of the top Canadian country music groups during the 1990's.
They were inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame (2008).
Russell and Keith pursued solo projects after the group disbanded.
