Why they might be annoying:

It was less a band than whatever sessions musicians Viner could round up at a given time.
Their first project was a soundtrack for the cheesy B-movie 'The Thing With Two Heads.'
'Bongo Rock '73' started getting airplay on R&B stations until the record label started shipping it in picture sleeves that showed the all-white band.
Their records have been heavily bootlegged.

Why they might not be annoying:

Ringo Starr was rumored to be one of the many uncredited musicians who moonlighted on their records.
The rights to the records were supposed to revert to Viner after eight years, but thanks to MGM Records being repeatedly bought and sold, it took years of detective work to reclaim ownership.
Their 'Apache' may be the most sampled record in history and was dubbed 'the national anthem of hip-hop' by DJ Kool Herc.
Nas said, 'Their breaks are so hip-hop. I'm going to continue using them again and again.'
