Why Secaucus, New Jersey might be annoying:

It is an inner-ring suburb of New York City, despite the fact it is across the state line.
Its name is a misnomer as it isn't located near a sea.
Its nickname is 'The Jewel of the Meadowlands.'
It was known for its prominence in the pig farming industry during the first half of the 20th century.
It went through a significant population drop in the 1950's, due to the decline of the agricultural industry.
It had the dubious distinction of being the most polluted town in the New York Metropolitan area.
It was the site of a collision between two commuter trains, marking the first passenger and crew fatalities in the history of NJ Transit (February 9, 1996).

Why Secaucus, New Jersey might not be annoying:

It was part of the oldest territory within the state of New Jersey.
It is the most suburban community located in Hudson County.
It was initially founded as an agricultural community that was known for its floral farms, prior to the arrival of the hog industry.
It revived its economy as a bedroom community to New York City, in the years following the collapse of the hog industry.
It has a low tax rate, which makes it a popular choice for people who work in New York City.
