Why they might be annoying:

They've only had one hit, Ritchie Valens remake of 'La Bamba.'
Though critically acclaimed, they've never been commercially viable.
After Warner Bros. dropped them in 1996, they bounced between several different record labels, none happy with their disappointing sales.

Why they might not be annoying:

'La Bamba' hit #1 on Billboard's Pop Single's chart for three weeks in 1987 and the soundtrack to the movie sold over 2 million copies.
Hildago is highly sought as a session musician and has worked on albums for Paul Simon, Dolly Parton, Suzanne Vega, Crowded House, Roy Orbison, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello and John Lee Hooker.
Rosas wife Sandra was kidnapped from the couple's home on October 23, 1999. Her body was found over a year later and her half-brother was convicted of her murder.
In 2006 they celebrated 30 years of music together with the same core line-up by releasing 'Wolf Tracks: The Best of Los Lobos.'
