Why he might be annoying:

    He sported a walrus style moustache.
    He once grew a goatee and bleached it blonde.
    He spent his prime on a horrible Tigers team.
    He played on six different teams between his stints with the Tigers.
    He sparked a controversy when he made homophobic remarks, but while he publicly apologized, he refused to retract his own personal stance (2003).
    He would barge the bullpen door open with such force, that it was hard to tell if he was actually angry or not.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He initially began his career as a setup reliever, before moving into the closer role.
    He was one of the few players acquired by Randy Smith who actually panned out for the Tigers.
    His strike out of Carlos Beltran served as the final pitch in the history of Tiger Stadium (September 27, 1999).
    He set a new Tigers franchise record for saves in a season (42 in 2000).
    He was a member of the United States team that competed at the inaugural World Baseball Classic (2006).
    He left the Tigers as the franchise's all-time leader in saves at the end of his second stint with the team.
