The Resume

    (July 15, 1961- )
    Born in Gainesville, Florida
Intelligence officer in the US Marine Corps (1984-96)
Ballistic missile advisor to General Norman Schwarzkopf during Operation Desert Storm
United Nations weapons inspector in Iraq (1991-98)
Wrote 'End Game: Solving the Iraq Problem Once and For All' (1999) and 'Target Iran: The Truth About the White House's Plans for Regime Change' (2006)

Why he might be annoying:

When Saddam Hussein stopped cooperating with his inspection team, he declared, 'Iraq can, in a very short period of time measured in months, reconstitute chemical and biological weapons... and even certain aspects of their developing of nuclear weapons program.' (1998)
Four years later, before the launch of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he did a 180 and declared the inspections had eliminated Saddam's weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).
William Butler, his supervisor in the weapons inspection program said, 'When he was the ‘Alpha Dog’ inspector, then by God, there were more weapons there, and we had to go find them — a contention for which he had inadequate evidence. When he became a peacenik, then it was all complete B.S., start to finish, and there were no weapons of mass destruction. And that also was a contention for which he had inadequate evidence.'
After the invasion, he claimed to be 'the only person to get it right' about Saddam's lack of WMDs -- a boast that would no doubt surprise Joseph C. Wilson, among others.
He predicted the George W. Bush administration would attack Iran in 2005, adding, 'The reality is that the U.S. war with Iran has already begun.'
He was arrested in a sting operation where police posed online as underage girls and arranged meetings of a sexual nature (June, 2001).
The charges were dropped and the record sealed after he completed six months of probation and agreed to undergo therapy.
He was arrested again after sending web camera footage of himself masturbating to a police officer posing as a 15-year-old girl in a chat room (November, 2009).
He turned down a plea bargain offer, was convicted on six charges, and received a sentence of 18 months to five and a half years in prison (October, 2011).

Why he might not be annoying:

He complained about CIA attempts to infiltrate the weapons inspection program in violation of the UN resolution establishing the program.
Before the war in Iraq he noted, 'There better be a hell of a good reason for this. There better be a reason worthy of the sacrifice we're asking Americans to make.'
He turned out to be right about Iraq not having a WMD program.
He wrote, 'I really am tired of all the Clinton Democrats running around getting all-sanctimonious over Iraq. It was them who killed 1.5 to 2.2 million Iraqis through sanctions.'
He was a member of the Delmar, Pennsylvania, volunteer fire department.
