Why he might be annoying:

    He never completed 'On War' and it was published posthumously by his widow.
    His prose is so difficult to read that many German students prefer reading English translations of 'On War' for their relative clarity.
    He was considered the first advocate of 'total war.'
    His ideas were adapted by Hitler, Lenin and Mao.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He graduated first in his class from the Prussian military academy.
    He is a character in <1877>Tolstoy 'On War' remains one of the most important books on military strategy, and is required reading at many military academies to this day.
