Why National Geographic Channel might be annoying:

It lives in the shadow of Discovery Channel and History Channel.
They haven’t done much to distinguish themselves from their magazine-counterpart.
They didn’t help matters by dropping the ‘Channel’ part from its name in 2016.
It was bought out by Disney, in 2017, which absorbed into its Disney Plus venture, further cementing their corporate monopoly in the streaming service wars.
They have been accused of promoting the looting and destruction of archaeological sites on shows like ‘Diggers.’

Why National Geographic Channel might not be annoying:

By 2011, it was available in over 75 million homes.
The premiere episode of its show, ‘Border Wars,’ drew record ratings (2010).
It has a reputation for airing high-quality documentary content (such as ‘The Final Days of Anne Frank’).
Its docu-series, ‘The ’90s: The Last Great Decade,’ narrated by Rob Lowe, pulled in 1.10 million viewers.
It spun off the highly-popular flagship channel, ‘Nat Geo Wild,’ which birthed ‘Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan.’
It has yet to spill into Reality TV/Real Housewives/ Duck Dynasty lite territory like other flagship networks have.
