Why he might be annoying:

    He is devoutly religious and isn’t afraid to show it.
    His family moved across the country when he was a teenage in order for him to attend a high school with a powerhouse football program to help boost his prospects.
    He had his parents heavily involved in his decision making process coming out of high school.
    He originally intended to attend USC, before opting to decommitt in order to go to Alabama.
    He opted to forgo his senior season at Alabama in order to enter the 2023 NFL Draft.
    Some football pundits felt his small stature would serve as a deterrent for teams from taking him with a top five pick.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He had an impressive college career playing under Nick Saban at Alabama, posting a 23-4 record as the team’s starting quarterback.
    He was a member of the Alabama football team that won the NCAA National Championship (2020).
    He won the Heisman Trophy in his first season as Alabama’s starting quarterback.
    Despite his hype as a college football superstar and leading into the NFL Draft, he remained humble and modest, not letting fame get to his head.
    He is the second player, after Cam Newton to be drafted first overall by the Carolina Panthers.
    He and C.J. Stroud were the first California natives in 11 years to be selected with the first two picks in the NFL Draft.
