Beauty Contestant

The Resume

    (circa 1983- )
    Born in United States
    Resided in Los Angeles, California
Competed in Miss California USA pageant as Miss Los Angeles
Crowned Miss California USA (November 25, 2007)
Was required to relinquish her title by pageant officials due to vote accounting error (November 29, 2007)

Why she might be annoying:

Four days after her pageant win, its executive director informed her of an accounting error due to points given to competition finalists being reversed.
She was required to relinquish her Miss California title to the pageant's second runner- up, Raquel Beezley.
She stated that the pageant's executive director told her that if she kept her title and news of the accounting error reached the media, her integrity and acting career could be jeopardized.
Within 30 minutes of receiving the news, she instead of pageant officials was required to inform Beezley of the decision.
Her Ecuadoran and Mexican ancestry caused susipicions of pageant discrimination, despite the ethnic diversity of previous winners.
She consulted an attorney to help further investigate the incident, suspicious that the accounting error was not the actual or only reason for her required resignation.

Why she might not be annoying:

She stated that she wanted justice and revelation of the truth regarding the incident instead of the Miss California title.
After her crowning, the mother of Ecuador's president contacted Silva's grandmother with congratulations for the pageant win.
She was interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres and received a one year modeling contract along with one year of free hairstylist service, courtesy of DeGeneres.
The replacement Miss California Raquel Beezley stated that Silva had done nothing wrong.
She was allowed to keep her Miss California sash, crown, and necklace along with receiving a $1500.00 pageant entry fee refund.
She received sympathy and support from those who thought she should have been allowed to keep her title.
