The Resume

Why 'Til Death might be annoying:

It was hobbled by the 2007 Writers Guild strike from the start.
It failed to capitalize on Brad Garrett’s popularity after the end of Everybody Loves Raymond.
It changed out series regulars like the Commanders changes out quarterbacks.
The Starks’ daughter Allison was played by four different actresses (and Joely Fisher was only 13-15 years older than all of them).
It started out as a dueling marriages show - in the spirit of Married with Children or Yes Dear - but the Woodcock neighbors were later written out altogether and it then became basically a Raymond clone.
They made the mistake of writing out both J.B. Smoove and Anthony Anderson, either of whom could probably have thrown it a lifeline.
It suffered from lackluster ratings that reached comically low levels to where not even making it an American Idol lead-in could save it.
Brad Garrett said of its ratings problem: ‘The other night, we got a 0.9 ... Once your mom stops watching, you're a 0.4. After year two, when you're getting beat by Telemundo, it's time to go home.’
It was pulled early in season three, but Sony kept producing episodes as if it was still on the air.
The final two seasons were eventually aired in syndication simultaneously, confusing the hell out of its few remaining viewers.

Why 'Til Death might not be annoying:

Mayim Bialik and Gilbert Gottfried guested.
It provided job security for JumpTheShark.com patron saint Kevin Nealon.
It helped Eddie Kaye Thomas make a name for himself outside of the ‘American Pie’ and ‘Harold & Kumar’ films (he and Garrett had great chemistry in their scenes together).
The exteriors for the Stark and Woodcock homes had also been used in Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie.
Being written out of the show really didn’t hurt J.B. Smoove all that much, as it freed him up to do Curb Your Enthusiasm full-time.
Despite poor ratings, it managed to survive four seasons because of the economy of putting it on the air (Sony gave FOX a big break on the license fee).
It got referenced in an episode of Family Guy, when Lois Griffin asks why all the horses are named after cancelled Fox shows, one of which is ‘Til Death.’
