Although she loved 'Angel,' it was not reflective of the rock and R&B material she had been performing live. And she was disappointed that the remaining tracks on her debut album were pop songs in the style of 'Angel.'

She was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance.
'Angel of the Morning' has been described as ahead of its time for conveying a message of female sexual empowerment.
Although 'Angel' sold over a million singles, she only received $5,000 for it.
Her version of 'Angel of the Morning' was featured in the film 'Girl, Interrupted,' which won an Oscar for Angelina Jolie, the niece of the song's composer, Chip Taylor.
