Hosts ‘Bob Vila’ (formerly ‘Bob Vila’s Home Again’) (1990- )

Why he might be annoying:

He was forced out of PBS after doing Sears endorsements.
His career never achieved the same success again.
He still hawks Sears and many other products in commercials, prompting one writer to call him a ‘money whore.’
He is reportedly an egomaniac who shows up late for show tapings.
He bitches about ‘Trading Spaces’ type home-improvement shows.
A woman once sued him for ‘kicking and punching’ the back of her seat on an airplane.
His official Website was accused of illegal spamming (2004).
One critic wrote that he ‘barely knows what side of the screwdriver is the business end.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He volunteered with the Peace Corps as a young man.
He gives a lot of money to charities.
He is proud of his Cuban heritage.
He mocked his own image on ‘Home Improvement.’
The ‘kicking and punching’ lawsuit was dismissed (2002).
Many people remember his time with ‘This Old House’ as the show’s glory years.
