Why he might be annoying:

He spelled his name 'Cayce' while his wife spelled it 'Casey.'
He was suspended 145 days for rules infractions during his railroading career.
An investigation by the Illinois Central concluded that Jones was at fault for the fatal accident, having disregarded a flagman's warning.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a reputation for getting his trains in on schedule regardless of any difficulties he faced.
His fireman, Sim Webb, said, 'We saw no flagman... Without any warning we plowed into that caboose.'
He was credited with saving his passengers from death or serious injury by staying at the brake until the end.
No matter what The Grateful Dead say, there is no evidence he was 'driving that train high on cocaine.'
