    He is the second player with a hypenated surname in NHL history to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup.
    He was the victim of a racially motivated 'basketball' taunt by four hecklers in a game against Chicago (February 17, 2018).
    He was quick to point out the hecklers in question as the incident was unfolding, which led to a lifetime ban from the United Center as a result.
    He publicly stated his decision not to attend the Capitals visit with Trump at the White House was due to his views about Trump citing he couldn't support a president who was mysognistic, sexist and racist.
    He is an advocate for social justice and isn't afraid to stand up for his beliefs.
