Why Ann Arbor, Michigan might be annoying:

    It is an uber-liberal city.
    Up until 2004, the university's students would celebrate the end of the winter semester by running through the streets of the city nude.
    Their annual 'Hash Bash' is basically an event for people who want to get high.
    One of their state representatives participated in the Hash Bash (1973).
    Its residents are arrogant and tend to look down on the rest of Michigan.
    It was a major center during the anti-Vietnam War movement.

Why Ann Arbor, Michigan might not be annoying:

    It was also a major center during the civil rights movement.
    They have some of the most lenient cannabis possession laws in the United States.
    President Gerald Ford played football for the University of Michigan and his presidential library is located here.
    Since their economy is based around healthcare, education and technology, they were one of the few Michigan cities to thrive in the post-industrial era.
    Domino's Pizza is headquartered here.
    They elected the first lesbian into public office when Kathy Kozachenko ran for city council (1973).
