Why he might be annoying:

He is flamboyant and somewhat effeminate.
He wears some of the worst costumes in men's skating.
He sounds arrogant and pretentious in many of his interviews.
He is an ardent fan of Paris Hilton and Justin Timberlake.
He cannot land the quad consistently enough to beat less talented skaters than himself.
He is flamboyantly fem.
When he dropped out of medal contention at the 2006 Olympics he said 'I didn't feel my inner peace. I didn't feel my aura. I was black inside.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He is one of the most graceful men ever to take to the ice in recent memory.
His mom is one of his greatest supporters.
The new judging system implemented after the pairs scandal in Salt Lake City is made for his type of intricate yet dramatic skating.
He outed himself in his autobiography (January 2011).
