Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname was 'The Rigger.'
    He was considered too small for a goaltender by hockey pundits.
    He enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
    He was used as a platoon goaltender in the later stages of his career.
    He opted to retire at the end of the 1987-88 season, after he got demoted to the Penguins farm affiliate at the end of the year.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is the son of former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Dennis Riggin.
    He was a member of both the last Flames team based out of Atlanta and the first one based out of Calgary.
    He and Al Jensen were the first goaltending tandem to win the William M. Jennings Trophy as members of the Capitals franchise (1984).
    He established himself as a fan favorite during his tenure with the Capitals.
    He set the Capitals franchise records (since broken) for games played, minutes played and goaltending wins in a single season.
