Why he might be annoying:

He starred in the 'Spenser' spin-off 'A Man Called Hawk' which lasted only 13 episodes.
To distinguish Sisko from Hawk, he shaved off his goatee and grew a full head of hair.
After three seasons, he grew back the goatee and shaved his head again.
He was a lecturer at Rutgers while starring in DS9 and sometimes delivered videotaped lectures while in his Star Trek uniform.
He was spokesman for IBM's 'It's the year 2000, but where are the flying cars?' commercials.

He has a deep, authoritative voice.
He was the first African-American to earn an MFA in acting and directing from Rutgers.
He has been nominated for three NAACP Image Awards.
He received the William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (2007).
