The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He never played a game in the National Hockey League.
Some hockey fans felt he put the Penguins in salary cap hell.
He mortgaged the team's future by making many questionable moves, often receiving little in return.
He was fired by the Penguins after his teams lost to lower ranked teams in the playoffs for five consecutive seasons.
His hiring with the Devils caught hockey pundits off guard, as there was no mention of his name for the position.

Why he might not be annoying:

Unlike his dad, he is personable with players and media alike.
He built the Penguins into a Stanley Cup contender during his tenure as the team's general manager.
He was the architect of the Penguins 2009 Stanley Cup championship team.
Prior to taking the Penguins general manager position, he served with the Predators from the franchise's inaugural season to his hiring with the team.
He managed to bring the Devils into the 21st century, by eliminating many of Lou Lamoriello's longstanding archaic rules.
