    She was overshadowed by Tristan Gale.

    She retired from her skeleton career following a freak accident as she and her teammate Noelle Pikus-Pace were hit by a bobsled costing their chances to compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics.

    She was the first ever American female skeleton racer to win a World Cup medal (1999).
    She and Tristan Gale were the first American female skeleton racers to win Olympic medals.
    She took a job as a volunteer fire fighter.
    She was one of eight athletes to hold the World Trade Center's flag during the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
    She has degrees in adult health education and nursing.
