Glenn Danzig is a control freak who forced John, Eerie and Chuck to all quit the band due to his paranoia.
Some of their darker and gloomier songs have been described as being 'cartoonish.'
Aside from the song 'Mother,' they haven't really gained much mainstream success.
Glenn isolated many of their hardcore fans when he changed the band from a blues-y metal group to an industrial group.

They were made up of former members of the Misfits, Samhaim, Rosemary's Babies, D.O.A., Black Flag, Prong and the Circle Jerks.
They've been described as mixing the Doors with Black Sabbath.
Rick Rubin produced their first three albums.
Their first three albums were highly praised by critics and are often considered some of the best metal records ever made.
Johnny Cash covered their song 'Thirteen.'
