Football Player

The Resume

    (July 4, 1943- )
    Born in Augusta, Georgia
Drafted 98th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1966 NFL Draft
Also drafted 46th overall by the New York Jets in the 1966 AFL Draft
Running back for the New York Jets (1966-75)

Why he might be annoying:

He wasn't sought after by the NFL teams, despite the fact he posted solid numbers in college.
He was considered too small for a running back by football pundits.
His bald spot made him look older then he actually was.
He suffered a career-altering knee injury, which forced him to alter his playing style upon his return.
Most younger fans are familiar with his Jets jersey, after Adam Sandler's character wore it in the 1999 comedy film 'Big Daddy.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a standout running back at Maryland State College.
He established himself as a power running back with the AFL's Jets.
He was a member of the Jets first Super Bowl winning team (1968).
He successfully transitioned from a power rusher to a blocking back upon his return from injury.
He was considered one of the integral parts of the Jets offense during the Joe Namath era.
