    He alternated between the NHL and the minors during his career.
    He was traded to the Devils for virtually nothing in return.
    He was overshadowed by both Scott Stevens and Scott Niedermayer for most of his tenure with the Devils.
    He attempted to make a comeback with the Devils after the lockout, at the age of 41.
    He enjoys playing golf and paintball in his spare time.

    He was a serviceable defenseman during his time with the Devils, following his trade from Quebec.
    He earned two Stanley Cup rings as a member of the Devils (1995, 2003).
    He established himself as one of the leaders on the Flames blueline for five and a half seasons.
    He served as a valuable mentor for the younger defenders coming into the Devils system during his later seasons.
    He played over 900 career NHL games with three teams.
