Elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame (1980)

Why he might be annoying:

His nickname was 'The Silver Fox.'
He injured his arm during practice when he decided he'd try to throw a ball out of the Los Angeles Coliseum (April 23, 1958).
The front office fined him for this (I guess they weren't impressed).
On April 17, 1961, Snider hit his 370th career home run. Later that day, his elbow was broken after Bob Gibson hit him with a pitch.
He finished in the top ten of MVP voting six times, but never won the award.
After playing most of his career with the Dodgers, he played for their hated rivals, the Giants.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was nicknamed 'The Duke of Flatbush.'
He hit the last home run in Ebbets Field (September 22, 1957).
He is the first person to twice hit four home runs in a World Series. He did it in 1952 and 1955.
He holds the National League record for most World Series home runs (11) and RBI (26).
He twice hit two home runs in a single World Series game (October 6, 1952 and October 2, 1955). Each time, he did it against the Yankees.
For four seasons, he played centerfield in New York at the same time as Willie Mays (Giants) and Mickey Mantle (Yankees). During this time, Snider hit more homers and drove in more runs than either Mays or Mantle.
