Why he might be annoying:

He made his singing debut at age seven, recording a Christmas novelty song, ‘Hey Daddy (I’m Gonna Tell On You).’
Three of his first four albums were titled ‘Billy Burnette.’
Not coincidentally, each eponymous album was also his debut for a new label.
His webpage promotes the dubious claim that the word ‘rockabilly’ originated from a merger of his name and his cousin Rocky’s. (Etymologist go with a combining of ‘rock’ and ‘hillbilly’ as the source of the word.)
