Why she might be annoying:

Chaplin married her only because he feared being imprisoned for having sex with a minor.
She blackmailed Chaplin into giving her a half million dollar settlement by threatening to make public the names of his alleged lovers.
She revealed details of her sex life with Chaplin in her divorce complaint, which became available to the public.
She bizarrely claimed that Chaplin had no sense of humor.
Her ghostwritten memoir 'My Life With Charlie Chaplin' (1966) was very inaccurate.

Why she might not be annoying:

As with Chaplin's first wife, she was underaged when Chaplin became involved with her.
Chaplin tried to see her as little as possible after their shotgun marriage.
She had a small notable role as a flirtatious angel in 'The Kid.'
Her son Charles Chaplin Jr. died of alcohol related causes in 1968.
She had to support herself as a department store clerk in later years.
She may have inspired Vladimir Nabokov's best known novel, 'Lolita.'
