Why he might be annoying:

He was elected on a Conservative ticket, but flip-flopped (enlightened) and became a Liberal.
He supported the Confederacy during the U.S. Civil War.
He was blamed for British military defeats in Khartoum.
He was addicted to pornography.
He would harass prostitutes on the street and try to get them to leave their profession.
Although he never slept with them, he would whip himself whenever he felt tempted (bondage freak?).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was elected Prime Minister four times.
He was socially liberal but fiscally conservative.
He introduced secret-ballot voting and public elementary schools to Britain.
Unlike many politicians, he didn’t kiss Queen Victoria’s ass.
He left much of his fortune to a library.
A suitcase is named after him.
He was known for his strength in his old age.
When a carriage knocked him over, he chased down the driver and held him until the police came.
