The Resume

    (November 24, 1962- )
    Born in Midland, Texas
Drafted in the 19th round of the amateur draft by the Chicago White Sox (1985)
    Infielder for the New York Yankees (1987-95, 2001), California/Anaheim Angels (1996-99), Oakland A's (1999-2000, 2002), and Texas Rangers (2001)

Why he might be annoying:

He said that leaving the Yankees had been a mistake. (Largely because the team won four World Series during his time away.)
He missed all but one game of the 1997 season due to injuries.
He was identified as a steroid user in the Mitchell Report.
He testified at Barry Bonds' perjury trial that he had purchased 'the cream' and 'the clear' from Bonds' trainer, Greg Anderson, and was injected with human growth hormone by Anderson.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a versatile fielder, playing every position except pitcher and catcher.
He re-signed with the Yankees for a one-year $350,000 contract despite receiving higher-paying offers from other teams, prompting manager Buck Showalter to call him 'the epitome of a team player.'
Demonstrating that loyalty ran only one way, the Yankees turned down his request for a three-year contract (1995), leading to his signing with the Angels.
He was the 11th player in Major League history to make an unassisted triple play (May 29, 2000).
