    His playing career with the Canadiens was overshadowed by the likes of many Hall of Fame players on the roster.

    Some hockey pundits felt his status as a checking forward hampered his chances of entering the Hockey Hall of Fame.
    He holds the distinction of being the player with the most Stanley Cup rings and All-Star Game appearances not to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
