Why they might be annoying:

They liked exclamation points in song titles!
'Do Me!' was described in 'Rolling Stone' as 'a landmark in priapic obsession.'
Their follow-up albums were nowhere near as successful as their debut.
They described their sound as 'Hip-hop smoothed out on an R&B tip with a pop feel appeal.'
The three members keep going back and forth between BBD and New Edition.

Why they might not be annoying:

The 'Poison' album topped the R&B chart, went Top five on the Pop chart and was certified quadruple platinum with sales of over four million.
DeVoe said about their success, 'Everyone was looking for Ralph [Tresvant] and Johnny [Gill] to be the stars coming out of the group, so we kind of snuck up out of nowhere.'
Their records had a harder, funkier edge than New Edition's.
After the success of BBD, Bell went from being primarily a background singer in New Edition to lead singer on most of their singles.
Bivins discovered and managed Boyz II Men, Another Bad Creation and 702.
