He was the secondary duet partner for Shania Twain's single 'Party For Two', despite the fact her version with pop singer Mark McGrath was the mainstream single.
His version with Shania was done in order to have the single on the country music charts.
He was charged with making terroristic threats and causing mental anguish to an elder, following a disagreement with a boat captain (2013).
The incident prompted him to be replaced as the headline act for a pre-race event for NASCAR.

Why he might not be annoying:

He wrote the song 'Walk A Little Straighter' when he was 12, to reflect his feelings about his alcoholic stepfather.
He writes the majority of his own songs.
