    Many believe he was in a romantic relationship with David, which goes against traditional Christian-Judeo values.
    Jonathan’s father tried to kill David.
    Whether or not either Jonathan or David actually existed is a matter of dispute.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is used as an example that God really doesn’t hate gays.
    David loved him more than his own life.
    His father ordered him killed for tasting honey.
    He slayed twenty men in the battle against the Philistines.
    He was killed in battle.
