Why he might be annoying:

He was born in a town called 'Cockermouth.'
He was a poor student.
He and his sister thought it was fun to lie on the grass and pretend they were dead in their graves.
Many believe he and his sister had a sexual relationship.
He got a woman pregnant in France and then married someone else.
His poetry can be sappy and simplistic.
He exaggerated the charm of England's Lake District.
He became lazier as a poet after he got famous.

Why he might not be annoying:

Both his parents died when he was a child.
The French woman he abandoned didn't want to marry him anyway.
He thought poetry should be accessible to everyone, not just the highly educated.
He had great sympathy for the common man.
He outlived three of his children.
He was a loving father and grandfather.
In addition to poetry, he wrote a popular travel guide to the Lake District.
