    His nickname was 'Indio.'
    He was a journeyman player.
    He was remembered for being part of a roster controversy on two occasions during the 1973 World Series.
    The A's attempted to put him on their playoff roster, despite the fact he was ineligible.
    He primarily served as a bench player in the years following his departure from the Phillies.
