They have been criticized for sounding too much like 60's British Invasion groups.
Their two biggest hits barely cracked the top 40.
DiNizio attempted to run for senate under the Reform Party.
DiNizio went from being extremely skinny in the 80's to being extremely fat in the 2010's.
Most of their output since the 90's has been cover albums.
They often tour with other 80's wash-ups like Tommy Tutone and The Romantics..

Why they might not be annoying:

They had a unique sound that combined 60's pop rock with 70's hard rock and 80's alternative rock.
Kurt Cobain was a fan of theirs and frequently listened to their albums for influence when recording 'Nevermind.'
They stayed true to their original sound and never gave in to the 80's hair metal or 90's grunge trends.
They have a dedicated following, especially in their native New Jersey.
DiNizio survived a severe nervous disorder that could have killed him.
They have no problem admitting that they were heavily influenced by 60's bands and are proud of it.
