Why he might be annoying:

He played for Canada in the 1984 Canada Cup only to renounce his Canadian citizenship in 1993.
He played for three different countries in international tournaments.
His career with the Blues lasted 23 games in two seasons.
The Nordiques traded him in his prime for reserve defenseman Craig Wolanin.
His decision to play for Canada sparked an outrage in Czechoslovakia.
He never won a Stanley Cup in his career.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first European player to defect from a communist country to play in the NHL.
He played on the same team with his brothers Anton and Marian in both NHL and international competition.
He was elected to represent Slovakia in the European Parliament (2004).
He spent most of his career playing for awful teams in Quebec.
His sons Yan and Paul are NHL prospects.
