Why he might be annoying:

    He had an interest in trains, and often would wake up in the middle of the night as a child to watch them pass by his house.
    He became a goaltender, solely on the fact he lacked skating ability.
    He contemplated retiring, after he went 7-29-8 in his first NHL season.
    He developed a tonsil infection, which diminished his strength considerably.
    He lied to the Black Hawks front office staff about his condition, which in turn proved to a fatal decision on his part.
    He often played games ill, which also was a contributing factor in his rapid decline and eventual death.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is the only goaltender captain in NHL history to guide his team to a Stanley Cup victory.
    He had enough guts to keep playing, despite the fact he was in ill health for the majority of the 1933-34 season.
    He was a member of the Black Hawks team that won the franchise's first Stanley Cup championship (1934).
    He was part of the inaugural Hockey Hall of Fame class (1945).
    He had an arena posthumously named after him in his adopted hometown of Winnipeg.
    He was considered one of the finest goaltenders to play the game game in his era by his peers.
