Why he might be annoying:

Andrew Jackson had received 153,000 votes to his 114,000, Jackson won 99 electoral votes and 11 states, Adams carried seven states and 84 electorial votes, two other candidates Crawford and Clay carried three states each totaling 78 electoral votes and 94,000 popular votes.
The election was thrown into the House of Representatives, since there was no clear winner.
The constitution says that only the top three candidates can be voted on in the House and so Clay was thrown out.
Due to the rules, each state delegation is allowed one vote for President, and with 24 states the majority needed was 13.
Adams got 13, Andrew Jackson got 7 and Crawford got 4 state votes, thus making him president.
Andrew Jackson supporters saw this as a robbery of the election.
He was the first president to be related to a predecessor, with his father being John Adams.
He grew mutton chops on his face (a look that gets its name from sliced lambs meat).
Like his father, John Adams he became the second one term president and second sitting president to be defeated.

Why he might not be annoying:

He graduated Harvard.
He wrote the 'Monroe Doctrine.'
He was the first president to wear long trousers to his inauguration.
