    In 1868, a fire devastated the center of its uptown neighborhood.
    The town has really cold winters.
    The Chardon High School Shooting took place here as three students were shot dead and two others were injured (February 27, 2012).

    The town's Geauga County Courthouse is a centerpiece of the Chardon Courthouse Square District.
    It is famous for its maple syrup, which the town celebrates during its annual Maple Festival in March.
    There are numerous recreational parks and gold courses around the area.
