    He said he dropped his last name partly to dissociate himself from his 'Quiz Kids' fame and 'partly it was my Jewishness.'
    He said,, 'My friends say I have something called the Lazarus syndrome,' because of his fondness for bringing characters back from the dead (most notably, Jamie Sommers for 'The Bionic Woman' and Spock for 'Star Trek III').
    His plans to follow 'Star Trek V' with the prequel 'Starfleet Academy' was shot down by opposition from Gene Roddenberry and most of the original series' supporting cast.
