Hockey Coach

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

    His nickname is 'Murph.'
He bounced around between the Blues, Rangers and minors in his first few NHL seasons, before landing a permanent home with the Kings.
Despite being considered one of the earliest stars for the Kings franchise, his contributions and accolades are largely ignored by the team's modern fans.
Some hockey pundits felt his playing career didn't get a lot of recognition due to the fact he played on the West Coast.
He was fired 27 games into his first full season as the Kings head coach.
He was the scapegoat of the Maple Leafs failures during his tenure as head coach, when in reality he inherited a bad team already in decline.

Why he might not be annoying:

He hit his stride in Los Angeles, shortly after his trade to the Kings.
He served as the Kings team captain for seven seasons.
He was the second person to play for and later coach the Kings franchise.
He drew praise from hockey pundits for his calm demeanor under high stress situations.
He got the opportunity to coach his hometown team, when he got hired as the Maple Leafs head coach.
He retired from coaching following a one year stint with the Senators to work in the NHL offices.
