Why he might be annoying:

He infamously swapped wives with his Yankee teammate Fritz Peterson, prior to the start of the 1973 season.
The swap came at a cost as his new relationship with Fritz's wife didn't work out and his career trajectory went downwards.
He played on four different teams in a five year span in the years following the swap.
His reputation around baseball was tarnished when the swap became public.
He was demoted from the starting rotation to the bullpen later in his career.
He attempted to make a comeback in the Mexican League, which was unsuccessful.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is of Serbian descent.
He moved to New Mexico in the years following the swap in order to escape the negative publicity and scrutiny he endured.
He was a member of the inaugural Mariners roster (1977).
Later in life, he admitted he regretted his decision to swap wives, citing it was done out of materialism on both parts.
He wisely refused to cooperate on a film project in regards to his infamous 1973 wife swap.
