    It’s adjacent to Ostrichland, which includes a petting farm that hosts ostriches and emus.

Why Solvang, California might not be annoying:

    It provides the usual tourist amenities like restaurants, museums and parks.
    Architectural structures (aside from windmills) there contain Danish-inspired designs.
    Bakeries there provide Scandinavian treats - Hello Aebleskivers!!!
    It’s home to the historical Old Mission Santa Ines church, founded in 1804.
    It came about in 1911 after the Danish American Colony Company (based in San Francisco) purchased around 9000 acres of land to house California’s Danish community; the Danish population in California slowly grew between 1850 and 1930 as Denmark inhabitants immigrated to Californiaduring their country’s economic downturn and to escape very cold winters.
    During the summer, tourists can watch a play outdoors at Solvang Festival Theatre.
    They celebrate Danish Days in September and Julefest in December.
