Too much cast changeover!
Despite the fact that the fictitious town of Pine Valley was located in Pennsylvania, the creators claimed the town was roughly about a one-hour train ride from New York City.
The series heavily relied on storylines involving many 'supercouples.'
Some characters were played by various actors over the years.
Erica Kane is often bitchy.
After being filmed for forty seasons in New York City, the cast and crew moved to Los Angeles, California due to rising production costs and falling ratings.

It touched on many taboo social issues such as abortion and homosexuality.
It gave an acting job to Ruth Warrick, who had been previously known for her role in the 1941 film 'Citizen Kane.'
Many performers got their start on this show.
The first few episodes were shot in black-and-white.
It won several Daytime Emmys throughout its run.
In fact, Lucci won an Emmy for her role in 1999 despite losing 18 previous nominations.
The program has been spoofed several times in both television and film.
