Why he might be annoying:

    He was overweight for a pitcher, and struggled to keep it under control.
    He posted a 13.50 ERA during his three games with the Orioles.
    It was speculated he hadn't eaten solid food in two days prior to his death, as he was attempting to lose weight in Spring Training.
    He was taking supplements that contained ephedra, combined with his poor dietary regime were contributing factors in his death.
    He wasn't acclimatized to the heat and humidity in Florida, as he was reportedly wearing extra layers of clothes in another attempt to lose weight.
    He was participating in an intense workout, at the time he collapsed, which was later revealed to be a result of heatstroke.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was considered a solid pitcher during his high school years in Oregon.
    He suffered from asthma as a child, which also served as a factor to his struggles pitching in intense heat throughout his life.
    He was considered a fun teammate by his peers.
    He was a newlywed with a child on the way at the time of his passing.
    His death prompted ephedra to be considered a banned substance by Major League Baseball.
