The Resume

    (February 12, 1955- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
    Producer, screenwriter, and director
Son of Charlton Heston and Lydia Clarke
Selected filmography includes 'The Mountain Men (1980),' 'Mother Lode (1982),' 'Treasure Island' (1990), 'Needful Things (1993),' 'Alaska (1996),' and 'The Search for Michael Rockefeller (2010)'

Why he might be annoying:

He made his film debut as a baby - at three months - in The Ten Commandments, playing his father/Moses as an infant.
He turns up regularly in goof listings for the film, which point out that an anachronistic safety pin is clearly visible on his diaper while he floats down the pretend Nile.
He tended to cast his father in his projects (including in the cartoon remake of ‘Ben-Hur’ in which the then-79 year-old actor played the title role again).
He hosted an infomercial for the DVD ‘Charlton Heston Presents the Bible.’

Why he might not be annoying:

He is an avid outdoorsman and even briefly moved his family to a remote island in Canada.
He found his calling as a screenwriter after Martin Shafer hired him to write for ‘The Mountain Men’ when he was twenty-two.
He traveled with his mother on several of her photojournalist trips, including to the Chichen ltza and the Acropolis.
He feels that his parents were wise to dissuade him from pursuing an acting career.
He said: ‘I think tastes change as you mature. A picture I made twenty years ago would be different from a picture I'd make now.’
After ‘Ben-Hur,’ his favorite film of his father’s is ‘Will Penny’ which was filmed in California’s High Sierra, where he would later spread his father’s ashes.
As of 2023, he and Debra Paget are the only major surviving cast members of The Ten Commandments (and he most likely will be the last).
