Animal

The Resume

    (circa June 2007- )
    Born in California
    Brussels Griffon mix terrier
Adopted by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi (September 20, 2007)
Was later given to the family of DeGeneres's hairdresser
Was taken from the family by the owner of Mutts and Moms Dog Rescue agency in Pasadena, California due to adoption agreement violations (October 14, 2007)
Was later adopted by a different family

Why he might be annoying:

He cost DeGeneres and De Rossi $3000 in special treatments and arrangements to train him to live with their pet cats after his adoption.
Despite special training, he was unable to stay at the home because he could not adjust to the cats in his environment.
He was given to DeGeneres's hairdresser's family in violation of a signed agreement stating that pets adopted from Mutts and Moms Dog Rescue could not be later given away without the agency's knowledge.
He was taken from the hairdresser's home after agency representatives which included animal control and law enforcement made a visit under the pretense of doing a home environment inspection.
The agency claimed that the hairdresser's family was unsuitable for Iggy due to the two children at the home being under fourteen years of age.
The agency, exempting the age rule, claimed that the family refused a request to visit the office to file adoption papers to legally own Iggy.
An attorney for the agency claimed that the family and DeGeneres believed that their celebrity status and influence exempted them from the agency's adoption policies and requests.
His situation received much media attention after DeGeneres emotionally detailed it on her television show and pleaded for his return to the family.
DeGeneres delayed scheduled tapings of her show due to stress over the situation, and she had to ask the public to stop the severe harassment towards the agency representatives.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had no control over his situation or welfare.
His previous owners as well as the rescue agency claimed that their actions were in his best interest.
During Iggy's situation, Michael Vick offered to adopt him.
He was eventually adopted from the agency by an anonymous family.
His situation brought some of the agency's policies into question and raised awareness of animal adoption need and issues.
He received much love and concern from the public as well as his families.
