The Resume

    (July 19, 2012-July 19, 2019)
    Created/Hosted by Jerry Seinfeld
Streamed on Crackle (2012-18) and Netflix (2018-19)
Segments are between 14-18 minutes long
Premise: Jerry Seinfeld is joined by guest comedians for a cup of coffee and a drive in a vintage car, sharing stories all along the way

Why Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee might be annoying:

    Its only sponsor was Acura.
Miranda Sings guested on an episode.
Jerry was accused of ripping off British comedian Robert Llewellyn's 'Carpool' series, and later apologized for (allegedly) 'not previously being aware of the series.'
Jerry decided to plug it during his tribute to the late Joan Rivers (she was set to guest on the show before she died).
Michael Richards was allowed on to rehabilitate his image (and inevitably have to address the racist elephant in the room from 2006).
When it moved to Netflix, all episodes done from that point on had product placement for Lavazza Italian coffee.
Much of the schtick centered on being the everyman noticing every minute detail of daily life kinda goes out the window when you have a sitting President ride with you in a Corvette Sting Ray on your own show.
Like Seinfeld, Jerry ended it at its peak stating it was too much work to produce, although Covid-19 and the lockdowns likely weighed in his decision as well.

Why Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee might not be annoying:

It had been streamed over 100 million times.
Its guests ranged from up-and-coming talents to some of the greatest comics of all time.
Each episode featured a different classic car, with Jerry describing the characteristics of the car that make it special for him.
Jerry and his guest usually patronized small, local coffee shops and diners during their meet-up.
It usually saw some pretty deep conversations about the comedians' background and their approach to comedy in general.
It earned numerous Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won several Producers Guild awards.
An ad aired during halftime of the 2014 Super Bowl as a teaser for the show that doubled as a Seinfeld reunion shot at Tom's Restaurant (with Jerry, George and Newman).
Jerry Seinfeld won a copyright lawsuit which alleged he had stolen the idea for the TV series.
A cover for the first issue of the 2022 reboot of the Batman & Superman: World's Finest comic featured Seinfeld driving the Batmobile in a clear parody of the show.
